Jenny and Magma back the Sydney CDI
Jenny and Magma have just got back from their first trip to the Sydney CDI. This is the highest level competition for Dressage held in Australia. This year the CDI was an Olympic selection event.
The top fifteen placed competitors in the Grand Prix test qualify for the Kur or "freestyle to music". Jenny was not very confident of qualifying for the Kur so had only practiced her freestyle a couple of times. Magma ended up placing eight in the grand prix and then 10th in the Kur which was a great result.
Jayden also took Widelo down to compete in the CDI-Y which is an international level competition open to young riders held at Prix St George level. Jayden was very unlucky in the Prix St George as there was a loose horse galloping past his arena when he was half way through his test. He still managed to come 3rd and qualify for the Kur which he won by a convincing 5% margin.
At this stage Jayden is the only Australian young rider with two qualifying scores for the world young rider championships in Germany in November.
