Other news

A very belated "Welcome to Riding Lessons at Riverside for 2009" as you may know Mrs.White has spent the last few weeks confined to her bedroom with a broken ankle. It is mending and she is again able to ride her horse and perhaps more importantly get on with the paperwork.

Changes to Group Lessons This year we have an extra "train the trainer lesson" between 4 and 5 pm on Monday afternoon. This lesson is being taken by Megan with help from Pheobe and the Supervising Coach is Caro Sprengel. Our Chief Instructor, Jenny Gehrke also will be present occasionally.

Special offer for March – Weekly pupils are being offered the opportunity to take additional group lessons at a reduced price of $45 per lesson. Please contact one of our instructors if you would like to take some additional lessons.

New Horses Jimmy who joined Riverside last year, is being used in more lessons and is proving very popular. The new horse this year is Jazz who is being leased to Riverside by Hannigan family. Lauren Macdonald is partially leasing him for competing in the inter school competitions and some local events.

Other horses being partially leased from Riverside include Maclean who is being ridden by Holly Cussworth and Charlie who is being ridden by Izzy Cusworth. Holly and Izzy have been riding Maclean and Charlie for the past month and other riders have been commenting on how much better both Maclean and Charlie are behaving in the lessons. Hope O'Conner is also partially leasing a horse from Riverside and is still deciding between Matrix and Bruno. It looks as though Matrix is the favourite this week.

Horse Departures. George has left Riverside to live nearer to Bellbowrie but of course he is still owned and much loved by Arial. Otto is moving out to live at the Gatton campus of the university where he will join the demonstration horses for the vet science students. Spider has moved to a home in the country with a new owner.

Vale Flash and Fine Cotton. Sadly Flash and Fine Coitton (affectionately known as Satchi) have moved to that wonderful paddock in the sky where all special horses go.

Adult Riders are welcome to join our Saddle Club and Bridle Club rides. Saddle Club particularly offers a wonderful opportunity for parents to ride with their children. We have an enthusiastic group of Saddle Club pupils some of which come nearly every week.
