Jenny started the year by winning both of the classes that she entered at the Nambour 1 star dressage competition.

Femme Sateen won the Advanced class and APH Magma won the Grand Prix.

Jenny has had Kate Wilson's lovely mare, Dallas for training while Kate was on holidays. Jayden Brown rode Dallas at Nambour and won the novice class.

Mandy Finnimore and Diamontina backed up her win at the Caboolture 1 star event last week with a 3rd in the Preliminary class.

Jessica Cham came away with a 1st and a 2nd in the elementary classes at the recent interschool competition. Zoe Saxby was second in the Elementary class that Jess won. Sarah Bell and Eclipse were fourth in the novice class at the same show.

Dianne Mackie has tempararily turned her hand to eventing and came 2nd at Fig Tree Pocket ODE in the Preliminary class riding Mitch. She backed up this success with a 6th at Mt Gravat in the intro class riding Balcam Faame. She informs us that she would have come 2nd but for the fact that she went too fast in the cross country phase because she forgt her watch!

Paul Mackie who is back in the saddle after a nasty fall over summer came 8th in the pre-novice.

Day Camps

Most of the attendees at the day camps during the April School holidays had a great time. A special thank you to our instructors, who ran these day camps, under the guidance of Megan. (Andrew and Liz White went on their first long (two weeks) holiday for 25 years. We have had numerous short breaks during that period but not a real holiday. It was wonderful.)

Instructor News

Firstly welcome to our new instructor Phoebe Macgregor who joined us on the Tuesday after Easter. Phoebe had wanted to a riding instructor for many years as she loves horses and working with children. Phoebe is very popular with both our pupils and our horses. Welcome Phoebe, you are a great addition to our team.

Unfortunately Holly McKenzie has decided not to be an instructor. We are grateful to Holly for staying on for an extra two weeks until Mrs White returned from holiday. We said goodbye to Holly and her wonderful horse Iceman today, Friday 11th April. All the best Holly, we will all miss you.

There will be another change next week as Claire will be moving to part-time to give her more time to prepare for her baby’s arrival. The good news is that Claire will be continuing to give lessons at Riverside for as long as possible and we hope she will be back instructing again after the arrival of her baby.
