Lauren Lawley

Lauren's first riding experience as a child was a trail ride on a beach that had been given as a birthday present. This ride was enough to give her the "horse bug" and she has been involved with horses ever since.

From the age of around 10 until she was 13 all of Lauren's riding was out on trail rides along the beach every Saturday morning.

When Lauren's family moved to Gympie she started lessons once a week, which quickly turned into 2 and 3 times a week. She bought her first horse at 18, a cute but naughty arab cross her next horse was Jack. It was on Jack that Lauren started lessons with Jenny at Riverside.

In amongst her life with horses, Lauren studied Wildlife Biology at University of QLD and worked a few different jobs before stating studying for her AHRC level 1 at Riverside. With the guidance and wisdom of Jenny and Mrs White, she completed the course and gained confidence as a coach and a rider. She successfully competed on Jack to Novice level at dressage competitions, and when the time came, she sold him on to Ella as her first horse and bought Echo.

After completing her coaching qualifications Lauren stayed on at Riverside in a coaching and stable management role. She also I taught at Moggill, Brookfield, Karana Downs, Oxley and several other pony clubs while also competing on weekends with Echo.

All of the coaches who work at Riverside get the opportunity to travel with Jenny to Dressage shows as her Groom. Lauren went with Jenny to many events including international level shows. Lauren soon became an important part of Jenny's secret of success and she developed a special bond with all of Jenny's horses.

In 2007, encouraged by Jenny and Mrs White to gain further riding experience and satisfy the travel urge, Lauren made the decision to make a move and after searching  for the perfect next job, she found it at LionHeart Ranch, near Malibu in California.

So after successfully training echo through to elementary level, he was sold to Danni, as her first horse, everything else was sold as well, Ben and Lauren got married and moved to California.

At her job in California Lauren implemented the skills that she learned at Riverside. She managed the property and the care of all of the horses as well as rode and trained horses for clients. She rode around six horses per day. The horse's training levels ranged from preliminary level to Grand Prix. She successfully trained and competed with the horses that she had under saddle, and continued to grow as a coach and helped Lionheart continue to grow as a fantastic place.

Lauren returned to Australia in June 2011 to have her not so little boy, Hudson, in Australia and to take over the management of Riverside Equestrian Centre.

Then you will definitely see her face back at Riverside in 2010!
